Working principle



As shown in the figure below, when downstream demand decreases, the pressure on the lower side of the diaphragm increases. This pressure overcomes the set pressure of the pressure regulating valve (set by the set spring). By linking the push rod assembly, rotating rod, and small shaft, the valve gasket is brought closer to the valve seat and the gas flow is reduced. On the contrary, when downstream demand increases, the pressure on the underside of the diaphragm decreases. The spring forces the push rod assembly to pull the valve gasket downwards, away from the valve seat, and increase the gas flow rate.
